Billing & Insurance FAQs

How much do visits cost?

If you’re in-network with Elektra, you’ll just have to pay the cost of your regular copay or coinsurance.

If you’re out-of-network, the cash pay price is $249 for your initial visit (30 minutes), followed by $149 for subsequent 15-minute visits.

We always recommend you confirm your insurance coverage before any visit.

Will I have a copay? And if so, how much will it be?

It depends! Every plan is different, and things like co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance vary. If you'd like to know what your out-of-pocket responsibility will be, your best bet is to contact your plan and ask what your estimated out-of-pocket expense is for a specialist telehealth appointment.

Can I use my HSA or FSA for visits?

Yep, you can use your HSA or FSA card to pay for Elektra care visits!

How will I be billed?

Insurance is complicated, and co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance vary depending on your plan. On the day of your visit, we'll charge the estimated copay to your card on file. After your insurance has processed your claim, we'll charge your card on file for the balance due. You'll also receive statements via mail or email and can pay for any balance due via your patient portal. If you're not using insurance, we'll charge your card on file on the day of your visit.

If you have any questions regarding your financial responsibility, we recommend contacting your insurance plan.

You can also text Elektra’s insurance verification number at (414) 888-6578 for any questions regarding insurance. Just text an image of the front and back of your insurance card, as well as date of birth, and a member of our care team will get back to you within one business day.

Do I need a referral to see an Elektra clinician?

Some insurance plans may require that you receive a referral from your PCP. We recommend checking with your insurance prior to a visit to confirm whether a referral is required.

If a referral is required, you should call your PCP to request one. We can provide you the necessary information you'll need to give to your PCP. Please reach out to Elektra by calling or texting (646) 760-6669. Please note, it can take time for referrals to be completed, so please be sure to request one from your provider at least a week in advance.

Is Elektra's education & community platform an additional cost?

Nope! All patients get complimentary access to our private education platform for evidence-based readings, virtual events, & 1:1 support from your Elektra Guide (aka “menopause doula”).

Does Elektra see patients in all 50 states?

At the moment, Elektra is licensed to see patients for clinical care in Connecticut, New York, Florida, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania…with more coming soon!

I still have questions! Is there someone I can call?

Absolutely! You can call or text us at (646) 760-6669 if you have questions, or email us at care@eleketrahealth.com.
