Elektra’s 2025 Year In Review: 10 Highlights, Milestones & Notable Moments

7 min read

2025 was a marathon year for Elektra, and as Q4 comes to a close, we’re taking a step back to celebrate some of our big wins, shine a light on exciting developments in the meno-universe, and of course — share lots of pictures.

This year, we achieved the near-impossible status of nearly 100% insurance coverage in NY, developed the first-ever menopause health plan with Oscar Health, and grew our stellar clinical team significantly…plus a whole bunch more. Thank you to our patients, team members, clinicians, advisors, investors, and supporters who continue to make this work possible. We’re grateful to have you by our side as we head into the exciting year (and years) to come.

1. We grew our clinical team by 150%.

Since this time last year, we’ve grown our clinical team by 150%. Our care team is composed of clinicians experienced in primary care, gynecology, and other facets of women’s health, who are further trained in menopause medicine and certified by the Menopause Society. Elektra clinicians strategize with patients on both symptom relief and long-term preventive health, following a prescribing philosophy adhering to guidelines set forth by The Menopause Society.

We leverage the convenience of digital technology to deliver care to patients across urban and rural settings without losing the impact of a clinical conversation in real time. In the words of our Chief Medical Officer Dr, Nora Lansen:

“Elektra’s care philosophy centers on increasing access to personalized, high-quality treatment grounded in the best available evidence. We believe that a critical component of individualized care is a meaningful connection between a patient and her clinician. Our goal is to remove barriers without removing the human element of healthcare.”

2. We announced a partnership with Oscar Health, offering the first-ever menopause health plan in the ACA marketplace.

HelloMeno is a first-of-its-kind program available to the 2.3 million women over age 45 in the ACA. The plan will empower women to take control of their health in perimenopause and menopause through benefits including $0 primary care, gynecologist, and behavioral health visits, as well as no cost labs and menopause hormone therapy, to name a few.

Oscar’s EVP & President, Janet Liang, put the significance of this pioneering plan best: “No one else is offering a comprehensive, dedicated solution for women in midlife. We saw a gap that others overlooked and moved quickly to fill it. Women can map out a plan with their primary care provider and Elektra’s community of Menopause Society-certified clinicians. They can access the right care – at costs they can afford – with additional community support, 1:1 coaching, and FDA-approved therapies without financial incentives for specific prescriptions.”

Effective January 2026, HelloMeno will bring Elektra’s services to Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas.

“Women can map out a plan with their primary care provider and Elektra’s community of Menopause Society-certified clinicians. They can access the right care – at costs they can afford – with additional community support, 1:1 coaching, and FDA-approved therapies without financial incentives for specific prescriptions.”

3. We reached 95% insurance coverage in New York.Virtual menopause care provider Elektra adds payer partners in NY

This year, with the addition of health plans Fidelis and MetroPlusHealth, Elektra is now in-network for over 95% of women in the state. New York’s size and robust healthcare ecosystem have made it an ideal proving ground for our model, and we look forward to scaling this playbook as we expand nationally in the year(s) to come.

4. We connected with women in the community at fairs, fitness studios, and farmer’s markets.

This year has been packed with local events — in person at farmer’s markets, community fairs, fitness studios, and libraries — and virtually, in collaboration with our employer and health plan partners like EmblemHealth, Federal Reserve Bank of New York, MVP Health Care, and Molina Healthcare. Being able to connect with women face-to-face and assure them that, yes, there really are options for coping with menopause, is always an incredibly rewarding experience.

5. We savored time (and food) together as a team.

Ever wonder what talk looks like at a dinner table full of women’s health  experts? Let’s just say there’s sexual health hacks and book recs a-plenty, plus sometimes a side of healthy debate. And from seafood and s’mores in Montauk to homemade gumbo in New Orleans, you know we ate well.

6. Elektra’s wraparound care model and expert clinicians made the news…a lot.

2025 was a busy year for Elektra and the menopause space at large. From policy changes to emerging therapies to seemingly constant MHT “hot takes,” there was a lot to discuss. We’re proud to remain a trusted resource for women seeking long overdue menopause education, and to lend our expertise to publications across the country:

7. We gathered for major, research-packed conferences — including The Menopause Society, Women’s Health Innovation Summit, and HLTH

This October, we gathered at The Menopause Society annual conference for the fifth year in a row(!), and per usual, it did not disappoint. Elektra Co-Founder and CEO Jannine Versi, Chief Medical Officer Nora Lansen, MD and several of our clinicians attended a packed week of presentations on cutting-edge research developments and conversations with friends in the space.

We also exhibited at HLTH Las Vegas with our friends and partners, the AgeTech Collaborative from AARP. Here, we were able to join hundreds of startups, thought leaders, and change-makers for a week of presentations and exhibits on healthcare innovation.

8. We celebrated a momentous win in the menopause space.

This November, the FDA announced that it will be removing the black box warning on menopause hormone therapy (MHT) products. This warning, which has long deterred doctors from prescribing MHT to patients, misrepresented the level of risk associated with hormone therapy treatment. We’re thrilled that policy is finally catching up to what menopause experts, such as Elektra’s clinicians, have known for a long time.

9. We partnered with our forward-thinking health plans to get the word out about Elektra as an in-network benefitImage of Elektra's Chief Financial Officer tabling at Molina health fair

Elektra is immensely proud to offer high-quality, menopause-centered midlife care to people of all backgrounds and insurance types, including commercial AND government-sponsored insurance. And this year, we took great pride in partnering with these forward-thinking health plans on initiatives to spread the word about Elektra — including co-hosted educational events with Molina, blog posts with Mass General Brigham Health Plan, email campaigns with Aetna Better Health® of Illinois, social campaigns with MVP, Oscar, and MetroPlusHealth, and more.

10. We let our patients do the talking.

From thoughtful Google reviews to testimonials and community stories, our patients play a huge role in telling Elektra’s story — and guiding how we build. Here’s a few of our favorites from 2025:

  • “No more hot flashes, no more mood swings. I’m not waking up at three o’clock in the morning and staring at the ceiling for an hour every morning; it’s been life changing. Dr Edmundson was amazing. She listened to me, she heard me, she validated me, and then she helped me get the medication that I need.” – Stephanie P.
  • “After feeling dismissed and confused by multiple doctors about my perimenopause symptoms, Elektra Health is a breath of fresh air. Compared to other tele-medicine services it is affordable and accessible for most insurance plans, without any hidden fees. They assigned me with a Doctor who specializes in PMDD and talked me through all of my options in great detail. I finally feel supported, their service is much better than a rushed OBGYN appointment. I highly recommend.” – Rebecca G.
  • “My consultation with Elektra Health was one of the most validating, compassionate, and straight-up helpful experiences I’ve had since entering the wild world of perimenopause. After years of feeling gaslit, dismissed, or told to “just wait it out,” I finally talked to a doctor who got it. Who listened without judgment. Who actually answered my questions—clearly, calmly, and with empathy. No medical jargon. No rushing. No minimizing. Just real talk and real support.” – Sheri R.
