Elektra Health and Aetna Better Health of Illinois Collaborate to Offer Members Menopausal Care & Support

3 min read

Elektra Health, a leading virtual menopause and midlife care provider, today announced a new collaboration with Aetna Better Health® of Illinois, a CVS Health® company. Through this collaboration, eligible Aetna Better Health of Illinois members will now have access to Elektra’s comprehensive, insurance-covered, virtual care platform that offers evidence-based medical care, coaching and peer support.

A recent study indicated that while about half of women ages 40 through 64 experience symptoms related to perimenopause or menopause, only 8% of those women actually receive a diagnosis. Elektra Health’s model blends board-certified menopause clinicians, coaching, and community resources into one digital experience to support the 1.3 million women in the U.S. who enter menopause every year. Members can schedule telehealth visits within just a matter of days, receive prescriptions through their health plan, and engage with Elektra’s coaches and peer community during the menopause transition and beyond.

“Women’s health needs evolve throughout life and menopause is a critical stage that can bring significant physical and emotional changes,” said Melanie Fernando, CEO of Aetna Better Health of Illinois. “Providing timely access to personalized care and innovative tools reinforces our commitment to helping women achieve their best health. With 80% of patients preferring digital solutions to manage their health, accessible coordinated care empowers women to thrive at every age and every stage.”
